About Fabrice Plantard:

Fabrice is co-owner and principal designer at Sandpoint Interiors. Fabrice studied fine arts and design in southern France and has since devoted his career to creative pursuits. He cut his teeth in the design profession working with his family’s firm which was commissioned for several high-profile projects ranging from the renovation of historic moldings in the Louvre Museum, the famous Hotel du George V in Paris, presidential palaces in Africa and several private villas in St. Tropez and other towns along the Cote d'Azur. In his late 20s, his creative energy turned to fashion. Fabrice entered and won several fashion design competitions in France, including first prize for "young creators." Fabrice worked in the ateliers of some of haute couture’s greats, including Jean-Paul Gautier, Lacroix and Paco Rabanne. There, he acquired a keen appreciation for fabrics, and the results that can be obtained from high quality, hand-made workmanship.

Fabrice later spent three years designing gifts and accessories in Hong Kong and eventually moved to the U.S., where he resumed interior decorating and real estate staging services in the Washington, D.C. area.

Fabrice's eclectic background is reflected in his work. Wherever he has lived he loves to discover artisans that create quality, one-of-a-kind works—whether it be a faux-painted wall, custom woodworking, or hand embroidery on haute couture fabric. And, he loves to stir up a "mix" in his designs: weathered antique next to sleek and modern, the inexpensive combined with the luxurious, the best of Europe side-by-side with American or Asian pieces. Most of all, he is passionate about design and wants to make the process worry-free (and even fun!) for his clients.
